// German drone legends Troum have been a staple in our zealous listening regime for over a decade. Ignis Sacer is a live recording from 2001 (released six years later) with one member of NID. Troum’s music can be at times abrasive and at other times tranquil, but what is always consistent is how unhurried they are to get to where they’re going. The performance commences its six movements with an enveloping motorik racket, before petering off into the group’s signature darkened swell. Though brilliant on its own, Ignis Sacer is but a notch in the discography; a testament to Troum’s captivating output over the years.
